Part 3- the concert-

This is the third part of the story; in the previous chapter we find out that Yumi has gone missing. (Enough said)...

Characters: Yumi, Yukari, Toshio, Miyabi (Only one that is my own character)

Miyabi and Toshio stared silently at the television as the reporter talked about the missing teenaged girl. Toshio still had the phone in his hand, on the other end the voice whispered, "Toshio... Toshio... you there... Toshio what's the matter...?"

Miyabi quickly turned to lean over the back over the couch. "You don't think...?"

There was a silence that pierced the room as Miyabi asked the question. Toshio's face turned pale. "Yukari... turn it to the news..." He stopped for a moment to listen to the girls reply. "JUST DO IT!" He demanded.

The reporter on the television began to talk. "Police have reported that there was a young sixteen year old girls body found in the bushes of a park near the local high school. The police haven't released any names, but we will do as much as we can. Our prayers go out to the family..." The reporter stopped for a moment then moved on to the next topic of order.

Both the boy's faces went pale as the report was over. They looked at each other and then back to the television. Their faces where covered with absolute fear. Neither of them wanted to believe that it was Yumi who they were speaking about on the news, but for some reason they couldn't help but to think that it was.

Toshio had forgotten about the phone in his hand and forgotten to whom he was speaking. Then suddenly the person on the other line began to yell out loud, bringing Toshio but to the conversation he had been having. "Yukari? You don't…?" He was silent for a moment as he listen to the girl on the other end begin to cry. "Listen! LISTEN! It's probably not Yumi… it's probably another. Don't worry we'll find her. You keep calling every one you know and every one that she knows, and Miyabi and I will go out looking for her." Toshio put down the phone on its jack and looked at Miyabi for a moment then ran toward the door.

Quickly Miyabi leaped over the couch and began to follow Toshio. His heart racing as he continued to run after the other young man. There was something that Miyabi wanted to say but nothing came out of his mouth, there was no way he would be able to speak at that moment.

When the two men reached the end of the driveway they both looked different directions and then back to each other. Toshio was the first to take charge he reached in to his pocket and grabbed on to something he then threw it to Miyabi. The thing that he threw was a cell phone. "You know my number, if you find her call me and I will be right there. You go that way and I will go this way. We will cover more ground if we spilt up. Look every where." Miyabi was silent and looked down at the phone, and noticed that his hand was shaking. "MIYABI!" Toshio yelled getting Miyabi's attention. "Now is not the time! We have to find Yumi."

For a moment Miyabi was silent and shocked at the tone in Toshio's voice, he had heard him angry before but this was different. In agreement Miyabi shook his head and tightened his grip on the cell phone. Miyabi and Toshio looked at each other and then turned to run their different ways.

As Toshio ran in his mind he thought, 'Please be alright, please be alright.' A tear then streamed down his face and then vanished when it was blown away from the wind that was on his face as he ran. 'Yumi, you can't be dead… you just can't!' Toshio began to run even faster.

"COME ON YUMI WHERE ARE YOU!" The man yelled as he came out of another place where he thought Yumi might be. When he ran he remembered just how cruel he was to her and all the moments that he tried his hardest just to make her cry.

Toshio was right; Miyabi had only wanted her because he could. 'Please forgive me... I never meant to... I...' Miyabi shook his thoughts of self failure out of his mind and continued to looked for Yumi in places where he thought that she might be.

Ringing came from his pocket, his heart leaped thinking that it was Toshio who had found Yumi. He quickly picked up the phone and yelled out, "Have you found her, is she alright..." Miyabi's face-hardened when it wasn't Toshio's voice on the other line. "Yukari, do you know any thing yet?" Miyabi stood still as he listened to the girl speak. "What... some one said that they saw her around the school... Yeah I'll tell Toshio." He hung up the phone and dialed in Toshio's number. "Yukari told me that some one say her around the school last night... yeah I'll be right there..."

Just as Toshio made it to the school Miyabi turned the corner. "Come on lets go." Toshio yelled.

The two began to sneak around the police and the reporters. Then they got to the front of the doors and to their surprise the doors were open. The police didn't look like they were in side the school so Toshio and Miyabi stopped sneaking. "Look in every room, then wait for me then we both will go up stairs and do the same thing on that level. She could be in any room if she's in here."

They checked the first floor and there was no sign of her. They walked toward the stairs and Toshio looked down for a moment. In all confusion they hadn't noticed the droplets of blood all over the floor leading up stairs. Toshio eyes then shifted toward Miyabi, and then rapidly they both ran up the stairs following the trial of the blood.

On the second level the blood droplets didn't lead to far. Toshio and Miyabi's eyes followed it and they were surprised when it led to their band room. The walked over and noticed some blood on the handle, and it looked like some one was trying to force their way in to it.

Toshio put his hand on the nub and tried to turn it but it seemed to be locked from the inside. Miyabi raised his eyebrow because the only way that was possible was to go through a long process on the inside.

Both of the young men put their ears to the door to hear if there was any one in there still. To hear both of them held on to their breath and made no noise. For a moment they heard nothing then suddenly they heard crying.

With out thought Toshio began to bang on the door. "YUMI IS THAT YOU! YUMI!" He yelled, and then Miyabi stopped him for a moment to hear what was going on.

"...Toshio... is that you...?" A weak voice said on the other side of the door.

With a sigh of relief Toshio closed his eyes and slowly began to cry as he put head up against the door. "Yes, Yumi it's me… it's me." Toshio whispered in a very soft voice as he continued to cry.

From in side the sound of unlocking the door started to happen. When the door was finally open Yumi flew in to Toshio's arms and Toshio slid down the doorframe. Tightly he held on to the cry and closed his eyes as he berried his face in to her hair.

"Oh Toshio I was so scared...I didn't know what to do..." Yumi cried as she pushed her self close to Toshio's body. The two on the floor didn't even seem to notice Miyabi standing above them.

"I'm here now Yumi... I won't let any thing else hurt you..." Toshio looked as though he wasn't going to let go of her now that he got her.

Miyabi then went in to his pocket and grabbed the phone to call Yukari. "Hey... we found her... she was in the school... yeah she's alright... ok see you..." After the conversation Yumi finally looked up.

"...Miyabi... you are here too... Thank you for coming..."

Then bending down Miyabi made eye contact with the girl, "Are you alright? What happened...?"

Toshio had just realized that he had forgotten to ask her that, and gently he pushed her away and started looking her over. She had a lot of little cuts on her body, she wasn't bleeding any more but she had blood strains all over her clothes.

"I was in the park when another young girl was attacked by a man... he didn't see me at first and then he did...I started to run but I didn't get to far he started to attack me... but unlike the other girl I was able to get away... I knocked him out and ran to the school... I knew he would be back in a few moments so I ran as fast as I could... I couldn't think of any other place to go but your band room..." He started to cry a little more, "I got in and locked it as fast as I could... then the man found where I was hiding and tried to get in... I thought I was going to be killed... he gave up as soon as he heard the police cars... then I just stayed in the room to make sure..." Yumi then turned to Toshio who was silent he looked at her with wide eyes.

While that was happing Miyabi looked in to the band room and noticed that Yumi had wrapped her self in one of the sweater that Toshio had forgotten in the room. He then looked back down at Toshio and Yumi and noticed just how happy they were to have found each other.

"Toshio...we should get her out of here... to make sure she is alright." Toshio looked up and nodded at Miyabi.


As they walked they heard yelling coming up from the stairs. "EXCUSE ME MISS YOU AREN'T ALOUD UP THERE!"

Then suddenly turning the corner was Yukari followed by an officer. Yukari stopped dead in her tracks as soon as she saw the three before her. She ran forward pulling Yumi from Toshio's arms and hugging her tightly. Tears began to form in the young girls eyes and she leaned down to her friend and whispered, "I was so worried... I thought that I had lost you... you don't know how scared I was... Yumi I am so sorry..." The tears that were swelling in the girl's eyes slid down her face on to the top of Yumi's head. "I was so scared Yumi..."

"What are you kids doing in here...?" The officer finally said out loud.

"Don't worry sir we were just about to level..." Miyabi whispered.

A year had pasted and every thing had calmed down. Yumi stood in front of the large house with a book in her hands. She rang the doorbell and waited for an answer. When the door opened Miyabi was on the other said, his face was stern. "What do you want...?" Miyabi hissed.

Yumi stood still for a moment and then with a smile on her face she stuck out her tongue at the young man. "Will you just let me in?" She stated. There was a smile on her face and she lowered the book down to her side. Miyabi did not move away from the door. "MIYABI! LET ME IN!" The girl laughed.

Then Miyabi leaned forward and kissed Yumi on the side of her face. "Hey, Mi… how are you doing today." Miyabi moved aside and let Yumi in to the house.

"I'm, good thanks..." She smiled back. "Where's Toshio...?"

"He'll be right down." Miyabi said as he closed the door and put his hands in his back pockets. "TOSHIO! HURRY UP! YOUR GIRLFRIEND IS HERE!" Miyabi yelled up the stairs and then turned back to smile at Yumi.

Yumi smiled and tilted her head slightly, "Why, thank you Miyabi." Yumi said in a sweet but sarcastic voice.

Toshio come running down the stairs and picked up Yumi in his arms and spun her around. While Miyabi watched this he was reminded about a conversation that he had with Yumi a year before.........


...... Thank you Miyabi for understanding. I am glad that we can be friend now." Yumi whispered as she wrapped her arm around the boy's neck.

"I am really sorry for the way that I acted and treated you. I don't know what had come over me. You look so much like my mother... and I treated you... I treated you..." Miyabi was having trouble saying what it was that he wished to say.

Yumi smiled like she always did. "Everything is alright now Miyabi... it is all behind us. No need digging it up now..."

Miyabi smiled once again but his smiled soon faded as he had something else that he wanted to talk to about with Yumi. "Yumi... about that kiss...I... well I... um..."

"I know Miyabi." She looked in to Miyabi's eyes. "It was something we both thought that we wanted at the time... but I don't think it would ever work... between you and I because... well..." Yumi began to play with a ring that was on her hand nervously. "I think I love Toshio... I'm sorry..."

Miyabi leaned forward. "That good he will look after you." With that he then kissed the girl on the forehead. " And besides... you're like my little sister..."

"Thank you Miyabi." Yumi was walking away now and had a smile on her face.

Miyabi then yelled out, "Hey Yumi..." She turned to see what it was that he wanted. "If he hurts you... send him my way and I'll tell him what to do." She smiled and then waved as she walked off...


Miyabi smiled as he looked at the two, they were staring in to the others eyes. "God will you two get a room..." Miyabi said sarcastically as he walked pasted them with a smile.

Toshio smiled back at his friend, "Well you're no fun..." He then looked down at Yumi and smiled, "Shall we go?" She nodded her head silently and continued to smile. They walked out of the house and left Miyabi sitting on the couch.

There was a smile on his face as he looked at a picture of his mother. "See mom… I told you they were great together."
